梅尔顿基金会是美国VeriFone, CyberCash公司创始人威廉·[1]梅尔顿先生(Dr. William Melton)创办的一个国际大学生交流组织。1989年,梅尔顿先生亲历柏林墙被推倒的历史瞬间,体悟到人类冲破障碍寻求发展的极致力量并深受震撼。怀着参与这种全球范围内积极变革的渴望,梅尔顿先生以"bring positive change in the world(在当今世界带来积极变化)"为核心理念创设了梅尔顿基金会,并在全球范围内选择了来自5个文化背景迥异且极具发展潜力的国家的年轻人作为实践这一理想的先锋团队。
